Every day, we hear news of natural disasters occurring around the world and stories of people dying in the wilderness. As a society, we have more of a reactive attitude towards emergencies, instead of a proactive attitude. It’s time to change that.
My name is Tamar Tashdjian and my main priority is the safety of others. As a young girl, I had the opportunity to travel to other countries and I noticed they all had one thing in common; the disparity between the rich and the poor. Witnessing this at a young age inspired me to want to start a mission group that would focus on the safety and well-being of those less fortunate. Over time, I realized how difficult this mission would be and slowly my aspirations changed. I went to school to work in the healthcare field and in I received a B.S. in Exercise Science and transferred to Loma Linda University for my Physical Therapy Assistant license. By 2014 I started working at local hospitals for outpatient, inpatient and home health services. Although working in the healthcare field was a rewarding career, it wasn’t my calling in life. In order to find myself and my purpose in life, I decided to unplug myself from the world for 28 days. I went backpacking through the High Sierra Mountains and reevaluated my life. I survived with everything I needed in a backpack and learned so much about myself. I felt renewed and my new outlook on life was that I could conquer anything.
In 2016-2017 I visited villages in other countries and discovered that their healthcare departments are nonexistent. Individuals in these countries are at a much higher chance of dying in a disaster due to the lack of resources and education. My goal is to try to change that.
In 2018 I started my own company called Stay Alive. Our company’s mission is to provide individuals with the education and resources they need in order to survive in natural disasters and emergency situations. We produce emergency backpacks and first aid kits that are created with high-quality items that have been tested over time. Stay Alive also focuses on providing charity to groups that don’t have the resources necessary to survive emergencies.
Life happens. Disasters can occur at any moment. Our goal is to help you be prepared, be proactive and STAY ALIVE!
In August to October, I will be in in Armenia to learn about the healthcare needs of their community. I want to form personal connections with people from the villages and not just be a stranger helping. Upon my return, I’ll be more knowledgeable in how to better help the people of Armenia.
We are also part of the Model Citizen Fund. For every Ultimate First Aid Kit bought, we donate a mini first aid kit to their fund. They are supplying the homeless community with backpacks filled with food, hygiene, socks, sleeping bag and more! Our first aid kits are also included in their backpacks and we are very proud of this.
For every item you purchase, you are helping us get closer to our dreams. New updates will always be provided either on social media or this website. We have big plans coming so stay connected with us on Instagram and Facebook. @stayalivepack
